"Chant More serves as a treasury, glorifying the brilliance of the Holy Name. The book is a compilation of discourses by His Holiness Śivarāma Swami on the practices of japa, saṅkīrtana, harināma, and sādhana. Each chapter is transcribed from the extensive library of audio recordings archived on sivaramaswami.media since its launch in 2006.
A compact, practical collection of teachings and meditations on the holy name for both japa and saṅkīrtana.
You’ll find foundations for quality japa and steady kīrtana, help for real-life hurdles (restlessness, unfinished rounds, lapses and recovery), and ways to deepen attention and taste—hearing while chanting, why japa can feel more austere than kīrtana, “crying for Kṛṣṇa,” and taking the mind to Vṛndāvana.
Take a page a day as inspiration before japa, consult it for a mid-week reset, or dip in as needed; either way, this practical guide will help turn intention into steady, offenceless chanting.
In 2011, approximately half of these chapters were compiled into a PDF available on the website under the title Chant. Offered at a nominal fee to support the then-new site, Chant resonated deeply with devotees worldwide, resulting in the distribution of thousands of copies of the PDF. This edition, aptly titled Chant More, expands significantly, warranting its own manifestation in the form of this comprehensive volume.
In addition, Chant More inaugurates a new genre from Lal Publishing, known as the "Collected Writings of Śivarāma Swami." Presented in the same lightweight, soft-bound format as Chant More, future volumes in this series will continue to evolve from transcriptions of Mahārāja's original audio recordings—spanning Bhagavad-gītā and Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam classes, series like Prema-vivarta and Vedic Philosophy Overview, discussions with devotees, personal reflections, group dialogues, and more.
Although each chapter can be read independently, they are interconnected, forming a cohesive narrative that revolves around our collective aspiration to deepen our chanting, relish the holy names, and enhance our love for them. Whether read for a minute, an hour, or a day, the words within serve as daily inspiration, meditation, and prayer.
