The book is a commentary on the Bhagavad Gita by Srila Baladeva Vidyabhusana, a Gaudiya Vaishnav scholar. One might wonder why Srila Baladeva Vidyabhusana felt the need to write a commentary on the Bhagavad-gita, especially since his siksa guru, Srila Visvanatha Cakravarti Thakura, had already created an outstanding and original commentary that aligns perfectly with Gaudiya philosophy. While we may never know Vidyabhusana’s personal reasons, studying his Gita Bhusana shows that he made a significant contribution to understanding the Gita. Like Visvanatha’s work, his explanations are unique and consistent with the entire text, yet his commentary differs from Visvanatha's.
