The Kalki Purana is a book with 35 chapters telling about Sri Kalki, the 10th and last Maha Avatara of Lord Vishnu. It's a prophecy set in the distant future, around the 4,320th century, nearing the end of Kali Yuga.
Kali Yuga starts after Lord Krishna leaves Earth for Vaikunta. During Kali Yuga, there's much sin and misery. The Indian caste system breaks down, and people forget God's name and stop offering prayers. Eventually, Devas seek help from Lord Vishnu.
Lord Vishnu appears on Earth in the home of Sumati and Vishnuyasa, changes his form to two arms, and learns from Guru Parasurama. He receives special weapons from Lord Shiva. His main goal is to defeat evil forces. He battles and defeats the Sunyavadis and later fights demon generals like Koka and Vikoka. He intentionally accepts defeat from Raja Shashidhwaja, marries Ramaa, and starts the Satya Yuga.
In the Satya Yuga, Kalki divides the Earth into kingdoms, performs sacrifices for the Devas, and his parents move to Badrikashram. He reigns as the King of Shambhala for 1,000 years. After restoring peace, Devas ask him to return to Vaikunta. Kalki takes a ritual bath, reappears as Vishnu, and returns to Vaikuntha.
