The Color Guide to Govardhana Hill: India's most sacred mountain
Author: Rajasekhara Dasa Brahmachari
Publisher: Vedanta Vision Publications
Format: Hardback
After receiving a wonderful response to his first book, The Guide to Vrndavana, Rajashekhar Dasa Brahmachari was encouraged by requests from devotees worldwide to write another book about the sacred land of Vrndavana. He reflected on the best topic for his next book and decided to focus on Goverdhana Hill and Radha-kunda, both of which are highly revered by devotees.
Govardhana Hill is home to over sixty significant holy tirthas that many devotees have heard of but few have visited. Over the course of a year, he regularly performed parikrama of Govardhana Hill, capturing photographs and researching the historical and spiritual significance of these holy sites.
As he gathered a substantial collection of slides and began writing, he realized that to do justice to both Govardhana Hill and Radha-kunda, he would need to write separate books for each. Although Radha-kunda is included in the Govardhana Hill parikrama, it has over fifty holy places around its sacred banks. He chose to first publish a book on Govardhana Hill, with a section on Radha-kunda, and then to write a separate book dedicated solely to Radha-kunda.
He expresses his heartfelt gratitude to his beloved spiritual master, Srila Prabhupada, for the opportunity to serve by producing these books about Vrndavana. He has been informed that these works have helped many devotees gain a deeper appreciation of the holy dhama, which, in turn, inspires them to serve the lotus feet of Sri-Sri Radha and Krishna.
